Season 1 aired on TBS from April 4, 2013 to June 21, 2013, with an additional anime-original episode written by Wataru Watari following the series on June 28, 2013. It was directed by Ai Yoshimura and produced by Brain's Base. The series was simulcast with English subtitles by Crunchyroll, AnimeLab (Australia & New Zealand), Anime on Demand (UK & Ireland), and The Anime Network. It was also broadcasted on Animax-Asia on July 9, 2014. The anime has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks in North America and Madman Entertainment in Australia.
Oregairu OVA Episode 1
Season 1 covers the Volumes 1 - 6 of the Light Novels, while Episode 13 of the anime covers the Volume 6.5 (Short Volumes 6.25, 6.50, 6.75). An OVA episode was bundled with the limited edition of the first video game, which was released on September 19, 2013. It covers part A of Volume 7.5.
The season is produced by Brain's Base and directed by Ai Yoshimura, with series composition by Shōtarō Suga, character design by Yū Shindō, art direction by Shigemi Ikeda, music by Monaca, and sound direction by Satoshi Motoyama.[2] The series premiered on April 5, 2013, on TBS with later airings on MBS, CBC and BS-TBS.[3][4] The twelve-episode season was followed by an extra thirteenth episode which aired on June 28, 2013, and an OVA episode on September 19, 2013, both of which were written by Watari.[5] The season was picked up by Crunchyroll for online simulcast streaming in North America and other select parts of the world.[6][7] The Anime Network and Anime on Demand also obtained the series for streaming.[8] NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan released the season in Japan on seven Blu-ray and DVD volumes between June 26 and December 25, 2013.[9] The season was licensed by Sentai Filmworks for distribution via select digital outlets and a home media release in North America.[10] Madman Entertainment later acquired the rights to an Australian release.[11]
The season use five pieces of theme music: one opening theme, three closing themes and one insert song. The opening theme is "Yukitoki" (ユキトキ) by Nagi Yanagi[12] while the main ending theme is "Hello Alone" by Saori Hayami and Nao Tōyama. "Hello Alone -Yui Ballade-" by Nao Tōyama is used as the ending theme of the fifth episode. The ending theme of the Extra episode is "Hello Alone -Band Arrange-" by Saori Hayami and Nao Tōyama. "Bitter Bitter Sweet" performed by Yukino Yukinoshita (Saori Hayami) and Yui Yuigahama (Nao Tōyama) is used as the insert song of the twelfth episode.

Season 1 adapts volumes 1-6 while heavily omitting a lot of details, interactions, and important scenes. Volume 6.5, bonus track excluded, is condensed in episode 13. Presumably season 2 will adapt volumes 7-9. 041b061a72
