One of the greatest features of the latest update is that it now uses the new official Subversion client (Apache Subversion, 1.7), and it is native on Mac OS X (so, no need of installing the latest SVN version on Mac OS X).
I am using Snow Leopard, and my problem started happening after I updated to the latest (1.1.6) version of Viscosity. I checked the new web page, and it says it works on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
We are running subversion 1.8.8 on server. SnailSVN is locking files ( can see on server ) fine but not displaying the lock icon in finder nor showing lock status in repo browser accessed from finder menu. Other icons work and Finder is at top of extensions list. Also particular file not indicated as locked using TortoiseSVN client (1.9.7) on windows PC.
If you are using a version control system in a very large project, you may have a team of people collaborating on a single project. You can make all changes to the project's source code on any PC, and then commit the changes to the server by using a client on each PC. This is called working at the trunk. If you make changes to the project, you can commit them to the trunk and the team can test them. Once they are ready to go to production, they can merge their changes from the trunk to the branch and you can merge those changes into the trunk.
The majority of clients support distributed revision control. Versions comes standard with distributed support, so you can now use it to work on a team project. Versions also supports basic GUI, Subversion C# API, TortoiseSVN, Subversion's native client, and client-server support.
Large corporate versions of SVN are available for companies that need a centralized, reliable, and robust version control system. The biggest challenge in any version control system is the ability to manage code. The Subversion project's version control system enables multiple users to work on the same code base concurrently, which means that the system needs to be able to manage many users working on a shared central code base. 827ec27edc
