A spiritual successor to LSD, titled Izuna, is in development.[12] It is being developed for the PlayStation VR, and is being directed by Sato.[2][12] It is intended to explore the theme of dreams and the dream experience in video games, and is planned to be released on a virtual reality headset.[2] It is slated to be published by PlayStation.[2]
Sato has said that he has no interest in making another game. However, a sequel, Starry Heavens Dream, has been in development since the release of LSD.[4][5][11] It is composed in the same style as LSD and features a similar plot.[1][4][11] Sato had trouble creating a sequel due to LSD being a failure.[4] The sequel was released on February 7, 2015.[12] Sato said that he will make an open-world game if he does decide to make another game.[5]
